Want to bring a new smile that will make you look too sweet? The dentists of modern days do have all the techniques to restructure your smile. Leave back the smile, they can even perform much better tasks on your teeth bringing an entire new look. Dentists have a variety of techniques and options to treat teeth that are discoloured, chipped, misshapen or missing. Reshaping the teeth, close spaces, restore worn or short teeth or alter the length of the teeth are no more any big task. The common procedures include bleaching, bonding, caps, crowns, veneers, and reshaping and contouring.
Bleaching
Bleaching is a chemical process used to whiten teeth. The discoloration of the teeth occurred in the enamel, caused by medication, coffee, tea and cigarettes could be cleared through bleaching.
Bonding
Bonding is the tooth-coloured material used to fill in gaps or change the colour of teeth. It is a simple process than other forms of restoration. It is used as a tooth-coloured filling for small cavities and broken or chipped surfaces.
Crowns, generally known as caps, are used in cases where other procedures will not be effective. They have the longest life expectancy of all cosmetic restorations but is also time consuming.
Veneers
Veneers placed over the front teeth will change colour or shape of the teeth, making it more attractive. They are thin pieces of porcelain or plastic cemented over the front of your teeth, which treats some of the same problems as bonding. This treatment is of course a bit expensive. Veneers do promise a longer life expectancy and colour stability than bonding.
Before choosing the method, it would be better to consult with the dentist, as he is more experienced and has more idea of what suits the best. Also make it confirmed with him that how the changes will look like. The overall charges and the type of maintenance required will have to be sorted out with the dentist to avoid later issues.

Teeth Care
Dental problems are a major cause for concern and unfortunately due to poor dental hygiene have become a common problem. Most adults are affected by gum diseases include gingivitis (inflammation of the gums) and periodontitis (where pus-filled pockets from between the teeth and gum).
As per the statistics of World Health Organization (WHO), dental cavities and periodontal (gum) disease are the two most common oral diseases. As estimated, about one-third of the population in developing countries or close to 1.3 billion people require oral/dental pain relief.
The decay of the teeth begins when bacteria in the mouth convert the sugars and carbohydrates you eat into acid. This forms a plaque, a sticky deposit that clings to teeth. The plaque causes destruction of the tooth’s outer enamel surface and reasons cavities. The decay takes at least two years in permanent teeth but less in primary teeth. The initial formation of acid happens just in the first 20 minutes of consuming food.
Just follow these steps to make you free from teeth problems.
Take care to brush your teeth at least twice a day. This includes morning and evening or after every meal or snack. Take care to use dental floss before brushing, preferably at night. This helps in cleaning the areas that toothbrush can’t reach.
In case of babies’ clean try to clean their gums twice a day with a moist cotton ball.
Make it a point to visit the dentist twice a year even if you are not suffering from any problems.
Use a fluoride tooth paste when brushing and also get fluoride from supplements, mouthwashes, apples, eggs, sea foods and tea.
Following these simple steps can help you avoid dental problems and give you beautiful healthy teeth for life.

Now that you have grown up and you are not forced to visit your dentist regularly, you may have dumped the entire idea of turning up to your dentist. But hey, do you know that by reducing the visits, you are actually welcoming a set of gum diseases without any reason? After reading this article, I am sure you will renew your old habit of going to the dentist for regular check ups. Read on to know how gum diseases ruin your healthy teeth and your healthy smile.
The starting of gum disease: Gum disease starts with the build up of plaque, (a thin layer of film that continuously grows on your teeth). Plaque harbors bacteria which, when left untreated, begin to infect the underlying gum. When plaque builds up, it can push the gums away from the base of one or more teeth. This leads to making room for even more plaque and bacteria to grow. This stage is called Gingivitis.
Though not painful, but this stage results in red and bleeding gums. If left untreated, this may lead to the next stage that is Peridontitis. To prevent entering the second stage, clean the gums by brushing twice and flossing.
Chronic peridontitis: This is the most common stage of gum disease which is common among adults. “Peridontitis is an infection of the tissues and bones surrounding and supporting the teeth.”
In this stage of gum disease, the receding gum line shrivels and creates pockets around the root and bone structures of the mouth thus facilitating the bacteria to create reservoirs to grow. As a result, your tooth can become detached and loosen or even fall out. If not treated, the tooth may need to be pulled and replaced with a dental implant, bridge, or dentures.
Necrotizing peridontitis: When things gets worsen, you may face the most severe stage of gum disease, that is, Necrotizing peridontitis. The gingival tissue actually necrotizes. Ultimately, the tooth dies and turns black.
This is most commonly found in malnourished persons or persons with suppressed immune systems.
As an adult, you are more susceptible to gum diseases although these are also found in children and teenagers. The risk factors for gum diseases in teenagers include poor diet, lackluster brushing, and wearing braces. Use of tobacco also contributes to gum diseases among teens and adults.
To ensure that your mouth stays healthy, make a habit out of brushing and flossing your teeth after every meal. Inculcate the habit of visiting your dentist regularly to get back your healthy smile.
