It would be better if the children with mumps avoid the school, day care, or public places for 9 days after the salivary glands first start to swell. But the separation of the child from the rest of the family is not a necessary thing as by the time mumps is diagnosed, most household members would have already been exposed. If mumps is diagnosed, try out acetaminophen for fever or headache. But always avoid aspirin to anyone younger than 20 as it is linked to a rare but serious illness called Reye’s syndrome.
Always place an ice or a heat pack on the swollen jaw if there is pain from the swelling. Keep a light towel between the jaw and the ice pack or heat pack to save the skin. You can take back the pack after a span of 20 minutes. Depend on ice chips or flavoured ice treats, such as Popsicles and soft foods that do not demand chewing. Avoid sour foods or sour liquids as they are extremely sensitive to the infected salivary glands.
Before the invention of mumps vaccine, this was a common childhood disease in the United States. The mumps vaccine is common these days. There is also a measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (MMRV) vaccine which includes a vaccine for chickenpox (varicella). Also known as ProQuad, the MMRV vaccine can be substituted for either or both doses of MMR. There do exist arguments on the risk of using these vaccines, but the benefits of the MMR and MMRV vaccines far outweigh them. The studies have clearly revealed that the autism 5 is not at all related to the MMR vaccine and the rest of the gossips are just fabricated by vested groups. The studies even showed that the risk of allergic reaction from these vaccines is extremely low brushing aside the rumours.

Chickenpox (varicella) is a common contagious illness caused by a type of herpes virus, which could be prevented by getting the varicella-zoster vaccine. Commonly called as the chickenpox vaccine, it is recommended for all healthy children 12 months of age and older who have not had chickenpox. The vaccine is given in 2 doses: the first at 12 to 15 months and the second at 4 to 6 years. This vaccine can also be given to the kids who have completed their routine immunizations but have not had chickenpox and also to the teens and adults who have not had chickenpox. The vaccination is a safe precaution against chickenpox even if they had chickenpox in the past.
Most health organizations do recommend the chickenpox vaccine as it ensures 95% protection from moderate or severe infection and 70% to 85% protection against mild infection. As per a study conducted recently, it is found that the effectiveness of the vaccine gets declined after the first year if given to children younger than 15 months. This has given birth to a debate among experts, whether a second vaccination, or booster, should be recommended for children below than 13.
Chickenpox can also be prevented by having a shot of chickenpox antibodies soon after the exposure to the virus. It can also be preventing by avoiding any type of close contact with people infected with the virus. Always remember that chickenpox spreads very fast, if got in close contact with someone affected by that.
Parents should be extra cautious regarding the health of the children. They should net the children intentionally expose children to chickenpox. Always take care that your kid is safe from this disease. Children may develop serious complications from the infection, including pneumonia or encephalitis. If taken care at right time, it is possible to stay chicken pox at a safe distance.

A happy moment in family… A boy is born. He is cuddled, loved and is played by everyone. Be it his parents or grandparents or relatives of family or the neighbors, all love the new male member of family. Next phase comes is of age group when the child goes to a kinder garden and makes new friends in his life. Some friends last forever and some get left in the passage of life.
After kinder garden’s life it’s the time to enter a school where his life grows and takes the shape for his future. This age group is of year 4 to 16 years. The fun age ends when the boy enters his teen age which in a new scenario of life starts much early than that of year 12. Tensions, burdens, feelings, imaginations and gist of achievement – these factors start evolving within him as per the age he is in.
This teenage leads the young boys in many phases of life – like: Depression, Sexual problems, heart problem and even inheriting some of the attitudes and the things which value to destroy their health. Movement in gangs, night parties, Smoking, hanging out with girls, drinking, and later being addicted with these habits bringing problems for their lives. Once Smoking and drinking becomes the habit and boys start having them almost on regular basis its after the age of 40 years when these boys turned men phase drastic problems in their mouth, lungs, abdomen and pancreas.
There even have been studies conducted by many medical institutions which even states that their fertility can also be effected if at proper stage, proper precautions are not been taken by them.
But this is not the end of the section of men categories. There are even those groups of men who never take alcohol or smoke but they do go with some insulin’s as they prefer to build their body in a more masculine shape with packs and curls and curves in their body which impresses the women around them. However, it’s a natural fact anything against nature do not last for ever. So, even these body-building masculine insulin’s can be of major disaster for them.
So for guys, any drug taken in to reform your appearance be it smoke, alcohol or insulin or any other stuff, your life may be in danger after few years and rather than you bring or thinking that the impression is coming out… think again you may be reducing your age. So, natural eating habits and good and healthy food is the only mantra for a good health and healthy living.

As said by Virgil – “The greatest wealth is HEALTH”. People in today’s busy life should be concerned about their health. With the rising global warning, depletion of UV rays, and increase in tendency of pollution, health has become a major concern for all and specially men.
Men are specifically encircled because even today in majority, it’s the men population that brings the bread and butter with in the family. Men are majorly seen in the field work where they have to eat, drink and inhale what is available out when they are on job.
To conclude in today’s scenario about the men’s health, there are two major factors that determine the physical appearance of a person:
1) How they feel and
2) Their weight.
Men today are conscious about their health but then not all men give concerns to their health. At to a certain age there come certain common and uncontrollable problems like: Diabetics, Blood Pressure, and Heart Problems to men which then require specific diet and exercise which then become a great mediator in their way and their personal looks, weighs and feels.
The diet greatly impacts on the way men looks, the way they approach things. A good balanced diet consists of the five major food groups. No single food can provide all the essential nutrients needed for good health and well being. With whatever effect of Men’s health we even see that Men are often found of Smoking. In their teenage just for fun they start smoking and this smoking fun later becomes their habit and they become use to of it. At times these guys even start taking Alcohol at that tender age itself which unfortunately at to a certain stage brings problem for themselves as their Lungs starts getting destroy, problems like Ulcer, Mouth, Stomach or Lungs Cancer which at to many a times leads to death.
Even at middling age when these men realize their fault, by that time they are under the observation of doctors and are on diet of boiled vegetables, Milk and light exercises. The good health is all lost. The Charms of face is now no where and routine check-ups are then on record. So, just to keep your wealth of health in good conditions, it’s better to maintain a health free from all diseases. Go for routine checkups and introduce control and balance in one’s life.

Spicy food is the choice of almost everyone, from adults to children. Everyone is fond of eating oily and spicy food now days. Because of their yummy look and taste. But do u know that spicy food can damage your health to a great extent? One can experience stomach problems and other conditions if a meal is a bit too fiery. Furthermore, constantly eating zesty food can have permanent negative effects on the body. Here’s what you need to know about the negative impact spicy food can have on your healthy body. Some of its negative effects are:
Gastritis:
A surplus intake of spicy food can cause Gastritis. It’s an inflammation in the stomach lining. It is usually triggered by infections, caused due to eating spicy food.
Chronic gastritis can produce ulcers by allowing the stomachs own acids to eat away at the lining, but one has to go through pain while eating food.
Acid reflux (heart burn):
Spicy food can trigger acid reflux. All that burping experience after a nice meal isn’t a result of bad manners; it’s the body not being able to cope with all that spicy cuisine.
Chronic acid reflux disease can also lead to esophageal cancer, but only in rare cases. Cutting down on peppery cooking is a good first step to reducing this risk. Acid reflux, especially at night, can also erode teeth.
Bad breath:
Garlic and onions are among the worst-smelling things, and they also happen to cause bad breath which at times can spell disaster at various special and social gatherings.
Causes Insomnia:
Spicy food is bad for sleep too. Because of the simple reason that spicy food raises body temperature. If one happens to consume something zesty before going to bed, it can disrupt sleep. The first cycle of sleep is particularly sensitive to acidic food and hence may cause insomnia.
Damage to taste buds:
After a certain period it’s true, that people do feel less sizzling after years of spicy abuse, but not because the body gets “used” to the sensation but because their sense of sensation suffers deterioration.
Burning sensation on skin:
Chili peppers produce a burning sensation on the skin and mucous membranes, including the inside of the mouth, may even cause blistering of the lips and palate.
Though in rare cases such cases arise but one should always be cautious in eating SPICY FOOD regularly. They should only be used for changing taste not as a regular food habit.

More and more teenagers are choosing not to eat meat, poultry or fish. They are becoming vegetarians. A vegetarian diet can be enjoyed by people of all ages. But that’s not the case with non vegetarian food as you grow old you need to cut down on your intake of non vegetarian food.
There are many types of vegetarian diets. The two most common are lacto-ovo, which includes eggs and milk products, but not meat, and vegan which doesn’t include any form of animal products.
A healthy, varied vegetarian diet includes fruits, vegetables, plenty of leafy greens, whole grain products, nuts, seeds and legumes. Being a teen vegetarian will make you healthy and rewarding.
The years between 13 and 19 are times of especially rapid growth and change. The teenagers should take utmost care and have healthy food and avoid junk
Health benefits for vegetarians:
• Decreased risk of heart disease as you grow older
• Decreased risk of cancer
• Lower chance of adult onset diabetes
• Lower likelihood of being overweight
• Decreased chances of high blood pressure
Important nutrients for vegetarian teenagers
• Calcium: Calcium is used to build bones, especially during adolescence, when bone density is determined. It is important to include three or more good sources of calcium in your diet.
• Protein: It’s needed to build and repair all body tissues, including muscles, bones and skin. Vegetarians get protein from four main sources: dairy and eggs; beans, peas, lentils and soy meats; nuts and seeds; grains and cereals.
• Iron: To increase the amount of iron absorbed from a meal, eat a food containing vitamin C as part of the meal. Citrus fruits and juices, tomatoes and broccoli are all good sources of vitamin C.
• Vitamin B-12: This vitamin is found in soy milk, orange juice and cereal. it is an important nutrient for the vegetarians.
• Zinc: Zinc can be found in whole grain foods, sunflower seeds, nuts and legumes, which are high in healthy monounsaturated fats.
• Omega3fats: These special fats will protect you from heart disease and possibly aid in weight control. Sources of such fats are walnuts, ground flaxseed, canola and flaxseed oils.
Eating vegetarian food doesn’t automatically mean healthy eating. Remember there are just as many vegetarian junk foods as there are for meat-eaters: potato chips, French fries, cookies, ice cream, and more. It’s important to identify the priority foods and maintain a healthy diet.
