Take care of the following before you pick any exercise activity.
Comfortable clothing
For any exercise, the clothes you choose should be so that they allow free movement to you, that is your arms and legs can move freely. Your shoes and socks should permit you to breathe well. Easy side-movements re facilitated by cross-trainers. Better still choose clothes that stretch and the fabrics which help your body in perspiration.
Do it slowly
Whatever exercise you choose to do should be done slowly, that is you should not start with tough exercises soon and also should not do them more than needed.
You should not go overboard with the exercises especially if they are extensive ones. There is a risk of injury, if you overdo any of those.
Water
Water is a basic need of every one and when it comes to workouts, it must be taken care of that enough water is taken before it, that doesn’t mean you can miss out on water intake after the session. Instead, you should remember that water is essential both the times. Water or any other healthy liquid is highly important because it helps keep the body hydrated well. Our body looses water during any physical activity in form of sweat, and in a strenuous exercise the risk is indeed higher. So, water or any other healthy fluid is very important to prevent from dehydration. But coffee and tea should be avoided; they are not good for the health.
Expert advice
An expert’s advice is a must before you go in for any exercise, whether it is yoga, or some strenuous exercise or some aerobics or even a simple jog or sprint, it is necessary to speak or consult your fitness trainer about it. It would be better on your part if you consult a doctor regarding the exercise you plan to pick for yourself.
If you suffer from some ailment and are above 40, then make sure that exercises you pick up, don’t affect your ailments in any way at all. The same thing applies to women who are pregnant or who are running in their menstrual cycle, since there are certain exercises which are completely a no for the two groups, and should be taken care off.
