Stick on to Healthy Diet to Lead a Healthy Life
![]() |
A good diet will make you healthy. Sticking to a healthy diet will keep you energetic, enthusiastic for long years. A few healthy substitutions in your recipes will help in reducing the calorie content of the food without sacrificing the taste, says the American Medical Association. According Dr. J. James Rohack, AMA president-elect, by swapping out a few ingredients with healthier alternatives, you could reduce the calorie and fat intake while keeping great flavour.
As part of its “Healthier Life Steps” campaign, the AMA is coming out with the following healthful holiday cooking tips:
Use fat-free and low-sodium broths in soups and stews. It is time to replace the sour cream in dips with low-fat or non fat sour cream or yogurt. Adding green vegetable to every meal, such as broccoli, spinach, and green beans is a good way to add extra vitamins to the diet.
The AMA is also giving tips to cut down extra pounds while attending holiday get-togethers:
Never hang around the appetizers. This will mindlessly tempt to go for more food while chatting with friends. Limit your desserts by just tasting instead of a full serving.
The AMMA tips ask you to have a control over your drinking habits. Alcoholic beverages consist of more sugar and empty calories, and drinking may lower your inhibitions, leading to eat foods that you generally don’t consume.
Always try to have stuff filled with fruits and vegetables. Stay away from fried foods and creamy dips.
Get out for walks.
In most cases, it is seen that guys intake a lot of grub filled with lots of calories, and don’t get enough physical activity to burn those extra calories. But this habit should be changed. After food, always take care to have a small walk. This will help in long run. Just stick on this habit and let us see what happens in one year.
