Are you really in a fix with the problem of dry skin arising every winter??? Now the battle for healthy skin begins.
Don’t think you are the only one, everybody faces during winter is the problem of dry skin . Cold temperatures and windy conditions damage the skin making it rough and scaly. Use heaters and central heating systems these by themselves can dry out the skin and the change from cold to hot weather can have a negative effect. Dry air takes away the thin layer of oil that traps moisture in the skin, causing itchy and painful conditions. With the drop in humidity and the cold air, there’s a rise in dry skin throughout. People who have dry skin all year round could be facing a different and much severe
condition will need medical treatment as well. It may be associated with allergies, you can say Atopic dermatitis. Atopic dermatitis is a chronic skin disease that primarily affects children and is characterized by red, dry, cracking, itchy skin; this disease can be caused by food allergies and worsened by irritants.
A well renowned pharmacist Nicol says “If you’re only going to do one thing after your daily removes the oily protective layer of the skin.
There are very many other reasons for this largest organ of our body and which gives a protection from the external effects to all other organs of our body, such as If you find itching, cracks and pain, you are advised to consult a dermatologist for a proper dryness., also due to some genetic diseases. Hormonal imbalance, eating habits, unhealthy life style etc are also the factors responsible for dryness of the skin during winter. Sometimes bath or shower, ‘soak and seal, Put on moisturizer from head to toe.”
There is a myth generally in this field that using water quite often for cleaning your face in a day more than 5 times, it can actually worsen the condition. Applying water to the skin can give a temporary solution to the dryness, because applying water again and again infection or some sort of allergy can also lead to the problem of dry skin.
Dry skin is the result of deficiency of water in our body. A well hydrated body is at a lower risk of getting skin problems. If an ointment-based moisturizer is too greasy, try a thinner crème or an even more-diluted lotion. The thinner the moisturizer, the more often it needs to be applied to be effective. We can use moisturizers and lotions to protect skin from external effects.
