How to avoid Razor Bumps
![]() |
You may call it razor bumps or razor rash or nicks but all of them are result of improper shaving habits. Let us read about some tips on how to avoid razor bumps in easy ways.
Studies in the past have suggested that men who shave immediately after waking up are more prone to razor bumps. The reason - fluids puff up the skin during the sleep and the stubble looks less visible and this leads to shaving a lot close to the skin-producing razor rashes.
The best thing is to avoid shaving at least an hour after waking up and after having a bath as this will soften the bristles leading to easy and cut-free shave. The use of a single blade razor instead of a 3/4 blade razor can considerably reduce the chances of razor bumps. If you have been noticing excess deposit on the shaving blade or a scraping skin sensation, use a new razor. Do not forget to spend some time (at least 3-5 minutes) to massage shaving gel or cream on the shaving area so that bristles can become soft and incidents of shaving cuts are reduced to the minimal.
It is always recommended that you do not share shaving blades or accessories with any one else. In order to avoid injury pains induced by cuts, it is recommended that you dissolve an antiseptic such as Dettol or Savlon in the water to be used for making foam and cleaning the razor.
We hope that these tips to avoid razor bumps will help you get clean shave without any troubles.
