Headache is a very common health problem found in both children and adults. A headache does occur along with another minor health problem such as a sore throat, cold, or sinus problem. Head aches are categorised in to there type. They usually are not serious but may occur again and again.

1. Tension headache is the most common type of headache, which is often caused by stress and emotional strain. It is seen to appear in adults from time to time.

2.    Cluster headaches is another type of head ache
3.    Migraine headache is the third type of head ache. Approximately one-third of people who suffer from migraine headache would have experienced it for the first time in teenage.

Headaches are caused due to various reasons. Excessive intake of caffeine, alcohol or any drugs will cause headache. Changes in the levels of chemicals in the body are another reason that could develop head ache. Coughing or sneezing. Dehydration, dental problems or procedures like pain from grinding the teeth or from a root canal, eating or drinking cold foods and fluids can end up in headache.

In certain cases, emotional stress or exposure to smoke or fumes from chemicals, including carbon monoxide could reason to the development of headache. Some times, a headache may be a sign of a serious illness. Other symptoms like vomiting, dizziness, or changes in vision, may also happen along with headache clearly showing, something is wrong in the health.

A head injury, brain tumour, stroke, or meningitis can cause sever headache. Other health conditions including glaucoma, hypertension, hyperglycaemia, or hypocalcaemia can cause severe head ache. In these conditions, a proper review of the health is necessary. If the headache shows no sign of stopping even after days, it is a must to consult the doctor for further clarifications.
