How to soundproof your home?

How to soundproof your home?Soundproofing is very essential for your home because it is the insulation against the external noise. You can get a relaxing atmosphere by sound proofing your rooms.
Soundproofing can be either done by reducing the noise or absorbing the noise. If you want to reduce the noise, you should introduce a distance between the noise and the listener. On the other hand, if you want the sound to be absorbed, you should transform the sound wave, suppress the damping materials and thus absorb sound.

One of the best ways to reduce the noise includes the use of damping materials which absorb sound waves and also limit the production of audible noise. By using damping materials, the sound wave hits the damping materials before falling on the listener’s eardrums.

Some of the widely used damping materials include lead which is very effective in converting the sound waves into heat over time and distance. However, it is a bit expensive damping material.

Another damping material is neoprene, which is not as effective as lead, but surely absorbs the low frequency sounds.

The most common damping material is foam. The porous nature of foam allows the sound waves to travel not as much as they travel in open air. However, foams do not absorb the sound completely. If you want to resist moisture, go for polystyrene foam which resist the moisture and is good sound absorber.

These were some of the widely used sound proofing techniques that have positive results. Hence, it is recommended that you install a soundproofing system in your home as well.

Are you getting enough sleep?

Sleep“Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy and wise”- an old proverb which you might have forgotten because you are busy! Gone are the days of eight- hours sleep. In your tight schedule, are you getting enough sleep? Your most probable answer will be no, isn’t it? Here are few tips which will make your sleeping habits better.

• Look at your bedroom: Keep it dark, warm and quite. Don’t make it your workplace. Reading, writing and watching television are strictly prohibited in your bedroom.

• Relax in your bedroom: Don’t rewind whatsoever happened the whole day in your bedroom. Relax before sleeping. A tensed mood will end up in nightmares and you may not get your dose of sleep.

• Eat well, sleep well: Take care of what you eat before bedtime. Avoid caffeine, nicotine and alcohol before going to bed. They are the worst enemies of good sleep.

• Avoid napping: Going for irregular nap is not a solution. Put a full stop to your habit of snoozing in the workplace when your boss is away. Workload, of course, makes everybody tired but napping on uneven intervals will surely hinder your regular sleep.

It is essential to sleep well to stay well. When the input is good, the output will be better!
