If you are sleeping less or more than this, you need to change your lifestyle and become more active. Remember, this is for your own good as sleep disturbances can lead to impaired memory and concentration besides swinging moods dampening your relationships. Irregular sleeping habits can also result in increased risk of accidents and dampened immune system.
In order to sleep tight, you need to make sure that the bed, mattress, pillows, and bedding are clean and more than enough to facilitate sound sleep. If sound at internal and external environments is distracting you, the use of an earplug is highly recommended. The room should be kept dark during sleeping hours and there should be good provisioning for soothing room temperature and ventilation.
If sleep does not come easy for you, there can always be a scope for book reading, instrumental music, a glass of warm milk, or a lukewarm water shower. If this does not work, you can even try deep breathing or progressive muscle relaxation techniques. Moreover, set a regular bedtime and follow the same religiously. In addition to all these tips, have a healthy and nutritious diet and emphasize upon daily exercises and avoid stress at all possible costs.
