Comments Tired of body odor?
![]() |
Imagine if you are sitting in a park to breathe the cool breeze and a man sits beside you with an unpleasant smell- body odor. You wouldn’t want to experience this situation even in your worst nightmare. And if you are noticed in a crowded bus with the distinct smell of your stale sweat, nothing will be more embarrassing.
We all sweat, rather we have to. Perspiration is the body’s natural way of cooling down. Sweat itself does not smell. It is the culture of bacteria that live on our skin and break down sweat into aromatic fatty acids, which produce the unpleasant odor.
Get rid of this unpleasant smell:
1. The obvious way is using deodorants and perfumes. Deodorants work by masking the body odor with their pleasant smell. Roll-ons are used for heavy perspiration. But have you ever heard of going through surgery for severe sweating?
2. Surgical options for controlling severe sweating. One is to remove a triangular area of skin in the apex of the armpit under local anesthetic. A small piece measuring 4cm by 1.5cm is cut out, destroying the most troublesome sweat glands. A modern variation on this procedure is liposuction to suck out the sweat glands from the deeper layers of skin.
3. If you are afraid of operation theatre and surgical knives, then. Armpit hair provides a greater surface area for sweat to adhere to and gives the bacteria a fertile breeding ground. Of course, keep yourself clean by bathing twice a day. Don’t wear yesterday’s clothes.
This way, you can confidently lift your shoulders even in a crowded place, because you will not smell unpleasant.
