Bleaching: An Easy Option for Whitening the Teeth
![]() |
A clean and white tooth adds beauty. A cute smile makes you especially attractive in the crowd. There is a high demand for teeth bleaching. Earlier, it was common among film stars, but now ordinary people are also opting for that. The desire for a brighter smile with whiter teeth is very strong, and tooth bleaching promises that. It is the most effective and safest method and lasts for a period of 5 years
How far bleaching is effective and successful? Generally, bleaching is successful in about 90 percent of patients. You can opt for this if your teeth are darkened from age, coffee, tea or smoking. Teeth with the colours of yellow, brown or orange respond better to lightening. But the teeth that are very sensitive, periodontal disease, or teeth with worn enamel, are advised to stay away from bleaching.
As the first step of bleaching, the dentist will determine if you can have bleaching and what type of bleaching system would provide the best results. The dentist will use either an in-office bleaching system or laser bleaching. Most patients prefer dentist-supervised at-home bleaching, which is more economical with same results.
In the next appointment, the dentist or hygienist will provide a mouth guard appliance for you, which is a custom, made for your mouth. It is a light weight that could be worn comfortably while you are awake or sleeping. Along with the mouth guard, you’ll be given the bleaching materials.
Some bleaching systems may require bleaching for two to four hours a day. Other systems may recommend bleaching at night while you sleep.
Generally bleaching may last from one to five years, depending on the personal habits such as smoking and drinking coffee and tea. It is not expensive, when compared to other methods of cleaning. If you have a desire to make your teeth shine, then the best option is bleaching.
