Ayurvedic Treatments

Ayurvedic treatment is one of the fastest growing alternative fitness treatments in the world. According to WHO, the international market of herbal products is estimated to be US$62 billion which is poised to grow to US$5 trillion by the year 2050. Ayurveda is the traditional Indian medicinal system based on herbal treatment. According to Ayurveda, health is the state of balance and disease is the state of imbalance. The aim of this system is to give complete health and not just getting free from physical diseases and stressed on the prevention of body ailments in addition to curing them. Oil therapies and massages play an important role in Ayurvedic treatment. Ayurvedic rejuvenation therapies attempts to regain the body balance through diverse means. It mainly focuses on diet control and body massage.
Ayurvedic therapies do not lead to development of side effects, it empowers people to reclaim true health and find renewed enthusiasm for creating harmony in their body, mind and spirit and it is accessible, affordable, and adaptable in everybody’s lives. Some of the basic treatments in Ayurveda include the following:
1. Dhara: It is an effective treatment for insomnia, and anxiety. In this treatment, herbal extracts, medicated milk, and medicated butter milk are poured on the forehead for about 45 minutes daily for two to three weeks.
2. Kizhi: Hot pouches containing herbal powder are applied on the body. This procedure is for treating osteoarthritis, arthritis with swelling, spondylitis, sports injuries, etc
3. Nasyam: Useful treatment for headaches, paralysis, mental disorders, and certain skin diseases. Nasyam is conducted by applying herbal juices or medicated oils through the nose.
4. Sirovasthi: A cap is fitted on the head and medicated oils poured into it. The treatment lasts for around an hour. Usually done daily for a week. It is used to treat facial paralysis and severe headaches.
5. Lepanam: Medicated herbal paste is applied on the body part to ease inflammation
6. Vasthi: Application of herbal oils, herbal extracts through the rectum. Done for 5 to 25 days. Vasthi is good for treating arthritis, paralysis, and chronic constipation.
However before opting for Ayurvedic treatment, it is important to check the quality of treatment the Physician or clinic offers. The essential conditions include having qualified and sufficient Ayurvedic physicians and personnel to attend on both male and female separately, high quality medicines and health programs, excellent, clean and hygienic equipment, environment, facilities and infrastructure, etc
