Asthma Causes Blockage in Lungs
![]() |
Asthma is a big health issue that is affecting a big part of population around the globe. Millions of Americans including children suffer from asthma which is a matter of concern for the health authorities. The airways of asthma suffering people are overly sensitive leading to an occasional overreaction to substances or air quality that may not effect on the lungs of a person who does not suffer from asthma. Asthma bearing people will have a tough time when exposed to an irritating substance or event. The dust or substance may enter the nostrils an lungs causing a blockage to the flow of breath.
The bronchial muscles will begin to tighten, which is called as bronchospasm. A bronchospasm is similar to the pinching of a straw. Like your fingers on the straw, the tiny bronchial muscles tighten around the outside of the bronchial tubes, making the space on the inside of the tubes too narrow. This reduces the flow of the air through the bronchial tubes to the lungs. Most asthmatic patients call it “catching their breath”.
The airways of people with normal lungs often constrict as a response to allergies or other irritants, but lungs with asthma have airways that are far more likely to constrict due to increased response to allergens. This may cause infections at the bronchial tubes that could lead to inflammation and swelling which may increase mucus production which would make breathing too difficult. The obstruction of airways by any combination of these reactions will make breathing a difficult task.
Curing asthma fully may be difficult. But with little effort and care from your part will help in controlling it. Precautions during change in season will also help in having a curb on it a certain extent. Avoiding dusty and windy places is an effective way to prevent asthma. Proper medication and lifestyle is also advised to keep asthma a few distance away.
