![]() |
Want to bring a new smile that will make you look too sweet? The dentists of modern days do have all the techniques to restructure your smile. Leave back the smile, they can even perform much better tasks on your teeth bringing an entire new look. Dentists have a variety of techniques and options to treat teeth that are discoloured, chipped, misshapen or missing. Reshaping the teeth, close spaces, restore worn or short teeth or alter the length of the teeth are no more any big task. The common procedures include bleaching, bonding, caps, crowns, veneers, and reshaping and contouring.
Bleaching
Bleaching is a chemical process used to whiten teeth. The discoloration of the teeth occurred in the enamel, caused by medication, coffee, tea and cigarettes could be cleared through bleaching.
Bonding
Bonding is the tooth-coloured material used to fill in gaps or change the colour of teeth. It is a simple process than other forms of restoration. It is used as a tooth-coloured filling for small cavities and broken or chipped surfaces.
Crowns, generally known as caps, are used in cases where other procedures will not be effective. They have the longest life expectancy of all cosmetic restorations but is also time consuming.
Veneers
Veneers placed over the front teeth will change colour or shape of the teeth, making it more attractive. They are thin pieces of porcelain or plastic cemented over the front of your teeth, which treats some of the same problems as bonding. This treatment is of course a bit expensive. Veneers do promise a longer life expectancy and colour stability than bonding.
Before choosing the method, it would be better to consult with the dentist, as he is more experienced and has more idea of what suits the best. Also make it confirmed with him that how the changes will look like. The overall charges and the type of maintenance required will have to be sorted out with the dentist to avoid later issues.
